Dr. Roger Edward Adams, a native of Post, Texas , became interested in health and nutrition at an early age. In December of 2004 he completed his life-long goal of obtaining a Ph.D. in Nutrition.
Dr. Adams graduated from Dallas ' Southern Methodist University in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. While he was a student at SMU, Dr. Adams worked in the telecommunications industry, and after graduation, was hired by Andersen Consulting as a computer network consultant. Two and a half years later, he made a career change, followed his passion for health and enrolled at Texas Woman's University, in Denton , Texas , to obtain his doctorate in nutrition.
By January of 1998, Dr. Adams had taken his first step in his new career and started classes in a nationally accredited Top 10 nutrition program at TWU. By February, he obtained his instructor's certification in personal fitness training, and is currently certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Dr. Adams is also a Certified Sports Nutritionist by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN).
While taking classes at TWU, Dr. Adams worked full time as a personal fitness trainer and nutrition counselor. In 1999 he served as a nutritional supplement expert for Internet Health Group. He also served as president of the Nutrition and Food Science Graduate Club for two years at TWU and in December 2004 he obtained his Ph.D. in Nutrition. His doctoral research was on conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and its effects on visceral body fat.
Dr. Adams believes that no one has the same nutritional needs. Therefore, he customizes nutrition programs to fit the individual needs of his clientele. Dr. Adams works one-on-one with clients as they strive to meet their personal nutrition and fitness goals. In addition to individual instruction, Dr. Adams also holds group nutrition education sessions and classes. Dr. Adams also speaks at business seminars, health fairs, charity organizations and other groups that desire more information on the ever-changing field of nutrition.
